Overview
The directions panel provides the ability to retrieve directions to various locations. The locations can be manually set, or they can be automatically populated by selecting a feature to get directions for.
ArcGIS API Key
The directions capability relies on external services to geocode (Geocoding Service) positions and generate route segments ((Routing Service)[https://developers.arcgis.com/documentation/mapping-apis-and-services/routing/route-and-directions/]). In order to use this capability, you need to provision and configure an ArcGIS API Key. For information on ArcGIS API keys, their use, how to provision them, and
Provision an API Key
Refer to Esri's documentation on ArcGIS API keys here, for background information and steps on procuring an API key.
Configure an API Key
Once an ArcGIS API Key has been provisioned, you can configure that key within the application using the following steps:
- Log into Omni with an Admin account
- Go to the "Organization" page (from the left side menu)
- Go to the "Settings" section
- Search the settings for the keyword "ArcGIS API Key"
- Enter your provisioned API Key from ArcGIS into the "ArcGIS API Key" setting
- Click "Save"
- Refresh the application
- This API Key will be available for all users within the organization
NOTE: If you only want to make the ArcGIS API Key available to you (not the entire organization), then configure the "ArcGIS API Key" in your User Settings instead of the organization's settings.
