Install PWA

OmniSpatial is a Progressive Web Application (PWA), which means that it is an app built using web platform technologies, but that provides a user experience like that of a platform-specific app. PWAs can be "installed" onto the device so that it will be accessible from your device's home screen and will provide a native-like experience.

To install the OmniSpatial PWA, go to the application URL and follow the steps below for your Operating System and browser.

Chrome (MacOS or Windows)​

  1. Click the install button on the right side of the URL bar
  2. Click "Install" button

Edge (MacOS or Windows)​

  1. Click the install button on the right side of the URL bar
  2. Click "Install" button

Safari (iOS)​

  1. Open Omni web application URL in Safari
  2. Click the "Share" button

  3. Scroll down and click "Add to Home Screen"

  4. Click "Add"

  5. Omni is now an available app on your device

Firefox (MacOS)​

Installing Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) in Firefox on MacOS is a bit different from other browsers. While most browsers allow direct installation of PWAs, Firefox requires an extension to achieve this. Here's how you can do it:

  1. Install the PWA Extension for Firefox:

    • First, you'll need to add the Progressive Web Apps for Firefox extension to your Firefox browser. You can find it on the Mozilla Add-ons website.
    • Click the "Add to Firefox" button to install the extension.

  2. Manage and Use PWAs:

    • Once the extension is installed, you'll be able to manage and use PWAs within Firefox.
    • Visit a website that you want to install as a PWA.
    • Look for the PWA icon or prompt (usually located in the address bar or near the website title).
    • Click on the icon or follow the instructions to install the PWA.
    • The PWA will now be available in your Firefox browser as a separate app, with its own standalone window or other native-like features.

  3. Remember:

    • Firefox and Safari do not natively support installing PWAs on MacOS. However, with the extension, you can enjoy PWA features in Firefox.
    • PWAs can be installed on macOS from any browser except Safari.
